Married

Unshun.

My three month hiatus from blogging comes to end now. In the past few months a lot of things have changed – and I think all of them for the better! We’ll cover them chronologically.

1. I finished my first semester of graduate school with a strong foot in a lot of doors, leaving things open for me to move in for the kill over the next year. I have a lot of relationships with graduate faculty and have plans to get my hands on the lecture series with Luke’s help.

2. WE GOT MARRIED!! I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am to all our friends and family who helped out to make our day awesome! There are literally too many to thank. SO many people jumped in got things done and took a lot of pressure off of Ashley and I. The wedding [like everyone said would happen] went by so fast. We just watched a quick cut of the wedding video this past weekend with my grandparents and it seemed to take three times as long as I remember. Everything looked so beautiful! We also got our wedding pictures online last week! 12-1photography is the best in the Tampa Bay Area, and possibly the “South.”

Married life is awesome, and I am enjoying learning to live and grow with Ashley. I feel like I’ve never learned more than in this season. I look forward to the rest of my life with excitement and anticipation!

3. We went on vacation/our honeymoon. I “planned” for us to go on a 7 day cruise in the Carribean that stopped at the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Belize, and Honduras. Ashley and I had so much fun on our shore excursions and we really enjoyed a week of rest to ourselves.

4. We moved. Ashley and I moved to an apartment complex that we both really love. It has a great atmosphere, and feels very safe. We haven’t really met our neighbors, but we haven’t had any issues with noise or anything either, so thats good. This week is “hump day” for getting the apartment clean and in order. You should come over on Sunday.

5. I have a job! Our prayers were answered, and I was offered a job as a research assistant at the IMAGINE Lab in the college of architecture. I tell people I work in the advanced computer laboratory. My job for this semester is, basically, to model and texture Tech’s campus in medium poly to be imported into the Unreal Tournament Game Engine. The final product, as I understand it, is to create a way finding device that works on game platforms, and we are using the campus as a test project. It will definitely increase the activity of my schedule this semester but it is a fun, interesting, and profitable job. I will literally be an expert with 3ds Max by graduation.

6. The Campus Ministry at GSU tripled two weeks ago when a group of friends came in looking for some other group and decided to stay. Now my wife leads a small group with those girls on Tuesday nights, and we legitimately plan to go with them to Campus Harvest. God is preparing to do great things at Georgia State University!

7. ResShorts. Or should I say Resolution Digital Shorts? Steven Rohrer, Ashley and I are working on a new component for the church services at Resolution Church. We thinks its going to be a great addition to the service, and we are going to have fun producing it!

Thats it for now. I hope to get back into blogging a little more regularly.
